Piston pumps

Operation of piston pump

A piston pump, also called a piston pump, draws liquid by moving a piston in a cylinder to and fro. If the piston moves inwards the fluid is sucked into the cylinder, if it moves outwards the fluid is pressed out of the cylinder.

Applications

The piston pump is used in combination with a pressure vessel as a hydrophore group for pumping water from boreholes or rainwater wells. This pumped water is often used for sanitary applications in domestic and commercial contexts. In addition, these pumps are often used for irrigation applications and drinking water for animals in the agricultural sector.
