Submersible pumps

What is a submersible pump?

A submersible pump (sometimes also called a bell pump) owes its name to the fact that it must be completely submerged in liquid in order to work. The height to which the liquid can be pumped depends on the power of the drive on the one hand and the maximum permissible pressure of the pump and the connected pressure pipe on the other.

Applications

Submersible pumps are generally used for lowering ground water, pumping ground water for drinking or fire-fighting purposes and pumping out dirty water, effluent or drainage water.

Functioning of the immersion pump

The liquid is drawn to the pump housing via the suction grid at the bottom of the immersion pump. Once in the pump housing, the liquid is transported to the discharge connection, after which it can leave the pump via an attached discharge hose.
