Via a suction hose, the liquid is sucked into the pump housing by the centrifugal pump. Once in the pump housing, the water is displaced by means of the built-in impeller towards the outlet with connected pressure pipe. The final fluid pressure depends on the diameter of the discharge hose. The larger the diameter, the lower the pressure loss.
Centrifugal pumps are non-self-priming as standard, but at Dema we do have a range of self-priming centrifugal pumps.
Centrifugal pumps are mainly used for domestic, irrigation and sprinkling applications due to their pressure-increasing properties. This type of pump is often used for pumping rainwater.
